Klaus L. Clement was born in 1956 in Weissenburg, Bavaria. Klaus discovered his passion for violin making while serving an apprenticeship in the Bubenreuth workshop of Karl Hoefner. In 2000, he started a workshop with Hagan Weise, known as Clement & Weise.  Klaus opened his own workshop in 2010 in Leipzig, where he works with his wife, Eva, producing fine instruments.  A renowned maker, Klaus is internationally recognized for his lectures about violin making and his historical varnish recipes.

Klaus' instruments are not readily available and are often sought after by discerning musicians.  This Klaus Clement C7 cello is one of the finest examples of his work.
